Educated as a fine artist, Stuart Abelman achieves remarkable dimension by using molten glass in a painterly fashion. His hand blown glass tree frog is a recurring theme in recent work. Working from his studio in Van Nuys, Calif., Abelman says he has a surrealistic side--the one that makes part-human, part-fish sculptures. He says he makes frogs because there's a part of him that would love to have been a forest ranger.

Stuart's glass pieces are shown in galleries and museums around the world and have become permanent additions to museums, private and celebrity collections here and overseas. Each Abelman Art Glass piece is signed, numbered and dated at the Abelman Art Glass studio and is an heirloom to hand down from generation to generation.

Stuart uses his own formulas to ensure the purest quality glass possible. Each piece is made entirely of hot molten glass and is worked and completed at the furnace. All the colors and design patterns are formed from the hot glass. No paint is used. Many of the beautiful colors are actually made with the precious metals, gold and silver.
