Sheahan says, " my interest in glass began ten years ago when I started
collecting pieces, mesmerized by the beauty of glass in all forms. I had
been working in wood for over 30 years creating geometric wood sculpture. In
2006, I delved into the world of fused glass and have tried to create dynamic
pieces which reflect my background in Architecture. Bright, complementary colors
in a rational relationship to each other inspire my work. In my first show in
2009, I was awarded the First Place (amateur) for my glass.
"A native of Topeka, KS, I trained in drawing and painting through college. A graduate of Kansas State University in Architecture, I have ben in private practice of Architecture in Topeka for over 30 years."
