Caleb
Siemon was born in Newport Beach, California in 1975. Growing up in his
father's jewelry factory, he learned the manufacturing process from the ground
up, eventually designing and fabricating his own line of jewelry.
Caleb's focus on ceramics in high school led him to a summer craft school in
Massachusetts, where he discovered glass blowing at the age of seventeen.
His passion for this new medium brought Caleb to the Rhode Island School of
Design, which exposed him to an international group of artists. Possessing
an urge to travel, Caleb studied with glass
artists throughout the US, Hawaii, New Zealand, Japan, and Scotland. After
graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA, Caleb moved to
Venice, Italy and apprenticed under the master glass sculptor Pino Signoretto
for two years. Caleb returned to America in 1999 and started his own
Italian style studio in Costa Mesa, California called United Glass Blowing.
Through the years, Caleb has brought numerous Italian glass masters to
California in order to pass on and continue a thousand year-old tradition.
Caleb has been able to utilize these traditional techniques to realize his own
designs. His efforts to continue the Italian tradition here in America
have caught the attention of International magazines, television and newspapers.
Caleb's work can be seen in museums and galleries around the world.
